If you, your child, a student, or a loved one is suffering, or has been diagnosed with a learning or behavioral disorder and symptoms ADD or symptoms ADHD, you will want to read this powerful report about the disorder and safe non-drug treatment options. (Link below)
ADD ADHD is a neurophysiological-neurobehavioral condition characterized by: Poor or short attention span, inattention to detail, impatient, impulsive, and sometimes aggressive behavior, easy distractibility and frustration, inability to focus, concentrate and complete tasks. ADHD, (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), has been a term used when the disorder is associated with hyperactivity-impulsivity.
Attention Deficit Disorder, (ADD ADHD) is clearly a misunderstood diagnostic dilemma for the average medical practitioner. Information stating that there is “currently no treatment available” to “diet is non-related” can be found on the internet. While this certainly is not the case, it is what is being offered to those afflicted with , in lieu of a sensible rehabilitative plan. ADD ADHD
Attention Deficit Disorder, (ADD ADHD) is a developmental disorder, which results in maldevelopment of the normal neuronal pathways, with notable regards to the motor systems. In addition to being mentally easily distracted, the disorder leaves those afflicted as being physically clumsy and uncoordinated, as well as delayed in motor development. There are varying levels of affliction, those with more significant affect will demonstrate lower levels of cognition.
Medical, (allopathic), treatment of ADD ADHD, typically involves the use of variations of the drug Ritalin, an amphetamine-like prescription stimulant. Ritalin use increases the likelihood of cocaine use and tobacco as an adult 3 times. It also does nothing to correct the underlying causes of the disorder. The drug is largely for the convenience of the child’s teacher, so that the child is less disruptive to the entire class.
Our approach to treatment of children as well as adults with ADD ADHD, obviously as with any disorder, follows a complete neurologic evaluation. Once the exact nature of the disorder has been determined, rehabilitative procedures can be performed to correct the problem. Rehabilitative procedures are performed to promote long term potentiation of neuronal pathways, otherwise not functioning adequately, without diminishing current function in any way. Additionally, diet and lifestyle activities are analyzed and corrected as they have been demonstrated to be largely contributory as well as responsible for Attention Deficit Disorder, (ADD ADHD) type disorders and behavioral disorders in general.
ASD, (autistic spectral disorder), includes autism, PDD-NOS (pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified) and Asperger’s disorder. These disorders are characterized by problems with language and communication, often accompanied by repetitive or unusual behaviors, and generally begin before age 3, although they may not be diagnosed until later.
New Jersey leads the pack with an average of more than 10 children out of 1,000 with autism, (more than one out of every 100 children suffers from an autism disorder).
These findings may add further fuel to the growing debate over thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative that was used in infant vaccines up until six years ago, and is still used in flu shots.
The Institute of Medicine held a meeting to review research that has been found, which links thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative in vaccines, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism. The panel used data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Vaccine Datalink, which concluded that children who are given three thimerosal-containing vaccines are 27 times more likely to develop autism than children who receive thimerosal-free vaccines.
Thimerosal has been gradually removed from vaccines since 1999, however it is still present in some vaccinations, including virtually all flu shots.
During the review, medical experts discussed the results from a study that showed urinary mercury concentrations were six times higher in children with autism, as opposed to normal-age/vaccine matched controls. They also said that they found evidence that suggested the link between thimerosal-containing vaccines and autism had a higher risk than that between lung cancer and smoking cigarettes.
